Our senior adult ministry strives to stay active throughout the year. During spring, summer and fall, we try to have monthly activities like attending plays, visiting enjoyable sites within the state such as Little River Canyon, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Helen Keller's birthplace, and an occasional overnight trip as well. During the winter we do an outreach to deliver delicious breads (banana nut, zucchini, pumpkin, etc.) to our homebound seniors, and in February, we have our annual Valentine's luncheon. We also try to attend some of our local senior conferences and concerts. We are always open to suggestions from our senior adults group as to other activities in which they would like to participate. Our committee meets regularly to plan new events.
I saw a great multitude from every nation and all tribes and peoples and languages standing before the throne. Revelation 7:9
Every December since 1888, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering has empowered Southern Baptist's international missions work. At the beginning of every giving season, we start with a week of prayer dedicated to international missions. Generous giving to Lottie Moon makes a difference among the multitudes. Men, women, children and entire communities are transformed as a result of this offering. Your gifts enable thousands of missionaries to live among, serve, and share the gospel with people who have never heard it until now. (Source: www.wmu.com)
Backpack Missions - Our church has partnered with Alabama WMU to help provide Christmas Backpacks for children living along the Mississippi River. These are some of the poorest children in the United States. We have been using the VBS offering to help cover the cost of filling backpacks for these children in need. In 2019 we went to Rayville, LA to deliver backpacks to the children there.

In 1895, an offfering was first collected for the work of the Home Missions Board. In 1934, this offering was renamed the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for Home Missions to honor the work of Annie Armstrong as a tireless advocate for giving, praying and going to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who did not know Him. Today, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering goes to train, resource, and send more than 5,000 missionaries across the United States and Canada. One hunderd percent of gifts given to this offering goes directly to the missionaries for their use in the field. None goes to admistration. (Source: www.wmu.com)
Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering supports the work of Alabama WMU, as well as Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief, Church Planting, Church Revitalization and Global Partnership Missions. Gifts can be given all year, with a special emphasis for giving in September. The offering coincides with the Week of Prayer for State Missions, a concentrated time of prayer when Southern Baptist churches all over the state are praying together, in Jesus' name, for a powerful movement of God in Alabama and around the world. Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child: Our church has partnered with Samaritan's Purse to help provide shoeboxes for children all around the world. Shoeboxes are filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items. These shoeboxes provide the children with a tangible expression of God's love.
